Privacy policy
How SikaraPay collects, uses and protects your personal data, in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
SikaraPay ("we", "us", "the platform") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of every customer and merchant who uses our service, in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us directly: your name, email address, phone number, and the recipient numbers, meter numbers, or service accounts you use when placing an order. We also collect transaction records (order history, amounts, status), basic device and usage data (IP address, browser type, pages visited), and delivery confirmations from our payment and service partners. We do not collect or store your mobile money PIN, card number, or banking password at any point — those are entered directly with our licensed payment processors.
How we use your information
We use your information to process and deliver orders, verify your identity through SMS/WhatsApp one-time codes, prevent fraud and abuse, provide customer support, send order and account notifications, and improve the reliability of the platform.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum information necessary with licensed payment processors (Hubtel, Paystack) to complete payments, with telecom and utility providers to fulfil the specific order you placed, and with SMS/WhatsApp messaging providers to deliver verification codes and receipts. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.
How we protect your information
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the platform, store passwords using industry-standard one-way hashing, restrict administrative access to authorised staff, and log administrative actions for accountability. Like any online platform, we continue to invest in and strengthen these protections over time, and we take any suspected compromise seriously — including notifying affected users where required.
How long we keep your information
We retain account and transaction information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as needed to meet our legal, tax, and fraud-prevention obligations.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request that your account be closed and your data deleted, subject to our legal retention obligations. Contact our support team to make any of these requests.
Cookies
We use session cookies to keep you securely signed in and basic analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
